It comes to my attention that when searching for a photographer it may be difficult to know what to look for. Below are my tips for what to consider.
1) Communication - It should be easy to communicate with the photographer that you select. That means in multiple forms (phone, text, email etc.). Finding one that understands your communication style will be key.
2) Website and Samples - You should look for a photographer that has samples of their work on their site and the look and feel of their photos represent what you would like to see in your finished product. It is important for you to be inspired by their work and know if the style they have will work for you.
3) Talking before a shoot -The photographer should agree to speak with you before scheduling a shoot. The topics discussed should be around what you want to achieve, not their background and history. Your objectives are most important. You want to make sure that the photographer knows what you will be using the photos for and what style is attractive to you.
4) Digital Images - You should agree before hand what photos you will have access to after the shoot and the agreed time frame that you will gain access. Some photographers will give you all of the digital images, others will only give you samples and charge you for printing. Keep in mind what will work best for you and ask these questions up front.
If you are looking for a photographer and you are in the San Francisco Bay Area I would love the opportunity to discuss your project with you. Please reach out for a conversation.
